Public Service Announcement, -"Anambra State Govt Didn't Stop IGR Collection but Directs all the Motorist including Keke operators to always pay at their Offices or loading park and never on the Road"-- Anambra State Ministry of Transport

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.

The Anambra State Ministry of Transport has noted with dismay, the misconception of the government ban on illegal revenue collectors on the roads.

Sequel to this, the ministry wishes to inform the general public, especially commercial motorists that the government did not in any way stop payment of IGR by commercial motorists. Every revenue collection must be at the various loading and offloading locations for both Keke, shuttle bus and big buses, nobody must be seen on the roads.

In view of the above, commercial vehicles in the state are banned from loading on the road. Motorists are warned to ensure strict compliance to this directives.

Anybody caught on the road collecting revenue, whether legal or illegal, would be apprehended and prosecuted according to traffic rules in the state.

Also, any vehicle caught loading outside the loading locations provided, the vehicle would be impounded and the driver prosecuted in the mobile court.

Afam Mbanefo
Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Transport.
