Reno Omokri Blast Desmond Elliot for his unguided response as a YOUTH REP to National issues, Tells Youths to Unfollow him on Twitter

Reno Omokri, former presidential spokesman, also took a dig at Desmond Elliot over his statement about the negative influence of social media after the violence that erupted in Lagos.

Recall that he was heard calling on the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly to “fix such items” such as “the Nigerian youth, the social media, the social influencers” in a video that captured Desmond Elliot’s submission to the House of Assembly.

Reno Omokri, who referred to the video that has now been made public, said that the actor was acting for his political godfathers to see his allegiance. Nigeria has changed and power has moved to the people, the former presidential spokesperson observed.

He also called upon all those on Instagram who were following Desmond Elliot to join him.

He wrote;

Desmond Elliott was acting for his political godfathers to see his loyalty. He is ambitious. He does not believe what he said. He believed he was writing a promotion exam. And he felt that the person that would grade his paper is Bola Tinubu. But Nigeria has changed. Power has shifted to the people. Even Bola Tinubu himself can’t recover from the effects of the last two weeks.

Desmond Elliot expects someone who can’t save himself to save him. Alas, he unwisely chose to be the proverbial fly that followed the corpse into the grave. Tinubu is now a political corpse. He once had the Midas Touch. But now, all that Tinubu has left is the Leprous Touch! Desmond incurred the wrath of forces more powerful than his godfathers, and they may sacrifice him to appease that force

The man @DesmondElliot has 1.5 million followers on Instagram. If in 1 hour’s time, he still has 1.5 million followers, then I will know and accept that everything that he said about Nigeria’s youth is true, because only a fool follows a person that has nothing but disdain for them. Nigeria’s youth must show that government must be afraid of them and one way to do this is by showing that irresponsible speech and action has consequences!

#EndSARS; Curfew in Anambra State is now EASED from 6pm to 6am -Governor Obiano

Curfew In Anambra State Eased, Now From 6PM To 6AM Daily, Says Governor Obiano

Written by Uche Nworah (ABS News)

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has announced that the 24-hour curfew in the state has been eased.

“The curfew in Anambra State has been eased and now commences from 6pm to 6am daily. This is to enable our people to gradually get back to their normal lives after the unrests recorded in some parts of the state these past days”.

Continuing, Governor Obiano reiterated his earlier call on youths of Anambra state to unite and guard their communities, saying that the security agencies have been strengthened and will continue to maintain peace and order in Anambra state.

“Intelligence at our disposal shows that those that have been causing trouble these past days in the state are from neighbouring states. We will not allow them to destroy our infrastructure, including police stations and other government facilities, some of which we built through self-help and community efforts”.

Governor Obiano said that “enough is enough”, and warned those who still plan to cause trouble in the state to desist or face the consequences.

Concluding, the governor thanked traditional rulers in the state, the clergy, youth groups and other stakeholders for their continued partnership with government in ensuring that life returns to normalcy in the state after the #EndSars protests.

Governor Obiano particularly praised the courageous efforts of some youth groups who have organised themselves to begin the clean up of Anambra state. “I call on residents of Anambra state to join in cleaning their neighbourhoods including drainages. The state Ministry of Environment, ASWAMA and Anambra State Clear Drainage and Forest Preservation Agency (ACDFA) have been directed to lead this effort across the state with immediately.

#EndSARS -ADRRESS TO THE NATION BY HIS EXCELLENCY MUHAMMADU BUHARI

ADDRESS TO THE NATION BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA ON THE ENDSARS PROTESTS, 22ND OCTOBER, 2020

Fellow Nigerians,

It has become necessary for me to address you having heard from many concerned Nigerians and having concluded a meeting with all the Security Chiefs.

2. I must warn those who have hijacked and misdirected the initial, genuine and well - intended protest of some of our youths in parts of the country, against the excesses of some members of the now disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

3. On Monday 12th October, I acknowledged the genuine concerns and agitations of members of the public regarding the excessive use of force by some members of SARS.

4. The choice to demonstrate peacefully is a fundamental right of citizens as enshrined in Section 40 of our Constitution and other enactments; but this right to protest also imposes on the demonstrators the responsibility to respect the rights of other citizens, and the necessity to operate within the law.

5. As a democratic government, we listened to, and carefully evaluated the five-point demands of the protesters. And, having accepted them, we immediately scrapped SARS, and put measures in place to address the other demands of our youth.

6. On approving the termination of SARS, I already made it clear that it was in line with our commitment to the implementation of extensive Police reforms.

7. Sadly, the promptness with which we have acted seemed to have been misconstrued as a sign of weakness and twisted by some for their selfish unpatriotic interests.

8. The result of this is clear to all observers: human lives have been lost; acts of sexual violence have been reported; two major correctional facilities were attacked and convicts freed; public and private properties completely destroyed or vandalised; the sanctity of the Palace of a Peace Maker, the Oba of Lagos has been violated. So-called protesters have invaded an International Airport and in the process disrupted the travel plans of fellow Nigerians and our visitors.

9. All these executed in the name of the ENDSARS protests. I am indeed deeply pained that innocent lives have been lost. These tragedies are uncalled for and unnecessary. Certainly, there is no way whatsoever to connect these bad acts to legitimate expression of grievance of the youth of our country.

10. The spreading of deliberate falsehood and misinformation through the social media in particular, that this government is oblivious to the pains and plight of its citizens is a ploy to mislead the unwary within and outside Nigeria into unfair judgement and disruptive behaviour.

11. On the contrary, both our deeds and words have shown how committed this administration has been to the wellbeing and welfare of citizens, even with the steadily dwindling revenues, and the added responsibilities and restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

12. Government has put in place measures and initiatives principally targeted at youths, women and the most vulnerable groups in our society.  These included our broad plan to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years; the creation of N75 billion National Youth Investment Fund to provide opportunities for the youths and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Survival Fund, through which government is:

a. paying three months salaries of the staff of 100,000 micro, small - and medium - enterprises,

b. paying for the registration of 250,000 businesses at the Corporate Affairs Commission,

c. giving a grant of N30,000 to 100,000 artisans; and

d. guaranteeing market for the products of traders.

13. These are in addition to many other initiatives such as;

a. Farmermoni,

b. Tradermoni,

c. Marketmoni,

d. N-Power,

e. N-Tech and

f. N-Agro.

14. No Nigerian Government in the past has methodically and seriously approached poverty-alleviation like we have done.

15. With regard to the welfare of police personnel, the National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission has been directed to expedite action on the finalization of the new salary structure of members of the Nigeria Police Force. The emoluments of other paramilitary services are also being reviewed upwards.

16. In order to underscore the importance of education in preparing youths for the future, this administration has come up with a new salary structure and other incentives for our teachers.

17. Let me at this point reaffirm the Federal Government’s commitment to preserving the unity of this country.

18. We will continue to improve good governance and our democratic process, including through sustained engagement.

19. We shall continue to ensure that liberty and freedom, as well as the fundamental rights of all citizens are protected.

20. But remember that government also has the obligation to protect lives and properties, as well as the right of citizens to go about their daily businesses freely and protected from acts of violence.

21. To our neighbours in particular, and members of the international community, many of whom have expressed concern about the ongoing development in Nigeria, we thank you and urge you all to seek to know all the facts available before taking a position or rushing to judgment and making hasty pronouncements.

22. In the circumstances, I would like to appeal to protesters to note and take advantage of the various well-thought-out initiatives of this administration designed to make their lives better and more meaningful, and resist the temptation of being used by some subversive elements to cause chaos with the aim of truncating our nascent democracy.

23. For you to do otherwise will amount to undermining national security and the law and order situation. Under no circumstances will this be tolerated.

24. I therefore call on our youths to discontinue the street protests and constructively engage government in finding solutions. Your voice has been heard loud and clear and we are responding.

25. And I call on all Nigerians to go about their normal businesses, and enjoin security agencies to protect lives and properties of all law abiding citizens without doing harm to those they are meant to protect. Let me pay tribute to officers of the Nigeria Police Force who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty.

26. I would like to thank those state Governors, traditional and religious leaders who have appealed for calm and restraint. I also thank youth leaders who have restrained their followers from taking the law into their hands.

27. This government respects and will continue to respect all the democratic rights and civil liberties of the people, but it will not allow anybody or groups to disrupt the peace of our nation.

Thank you all. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

A Special Broadcast by the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano on the Growing Tension Across Nigeria Sparked up by the EndSars Protests, October on Thursday, 22, 2020.

Ndi Anambra ekenem unu

I am compelled to address you today by the growing tension across the country ignited by recent efforts by Nigerian youths to ask for a better Nigeria.

The events of the past few days remind me of the words of Franz Fanon, the influential political philosopher who observed that “each generation must discover its mission, fulfill it or betray it in relative opacity.”

This generation of Nigerian youths has discovered its mission. But the question everyone is asking is; will they betray or fulfill it?

Great Anambra youths, I am immensely proud of what you have achieved so far. But we must not succumb to the morbid attractions of violence; no matter the provocation, no matter how justified our anger and no matter how easy it all might seem. Violence does not yield fruitful results.

The founder of modern India, Mahatma Ghandi warns that “when violence appears to do good, the good is only temporary; but the evil it does is permanent.”

Umu nnem, while our beloved state remains largely safe and isolated from the boiling sea outside, we have also recorded a few unpleasant incidents in our domain and there is justifiable anger in the land. But we cannot give it a chance to consume us all.

Consequently, we are taking precautionary steps to prevent further descent to lawlessness in Anambra State by imposing a 24 hour curfew with effect from 8pm today until we bring this rising tension under control.

Therefore, all schools and markets in Anambra State are hereby closed. All gatherings by groups and associations under any name or label from 8pm are banned. The law enforcement agencies in the state have been duly directed to enforce compliance.

However, all law enforcement officers charged with ensuring compliance to the restriction on movement must resist the temptation of applying excessive force while attempting to bring the situation under control.

We cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes that created the problem we are trying to solve in the first place.

Meanwhile, I wish to assure all non-indigenes living among us in Anambra State of their safety and security wherever they live in our dear state. The government of Anambra State will not allow you to come to any harm.

Ndi Anambra, we may do well to recall that in response to the nationwide demand by Nigerian youths for an end to the gross violation of their human rights by the defunct SARS, my administration had taken proactive measures to enthrone justice and peace in our dear state.

I have personally visited all the facilities used by the defunct SARS and freed all the prisoners in unlawful detention. I have set up a Judicial Panel of Inquiry to listen to petitions from victims of human rights violations by the defunct SARS.

And more importantly, I am happy to announce that we have set aside the sum of N200m to be disbursed as compensations to people who have proven cases of rights violations, torture and deaths from the activities of the defunct SARS in Anambra State.

This provision is part of the 2021 Budget which shall be presented to the State House of Assembly in a matter of days.

Ndi Anambra, this effort is made essentially in pursuit of a better society. We know that no amount of money can equate a human life.

But we believe that a symbolic gesture delivered at the right moment can heal old wounds and help aggrieved families to find closure in these most traumatic times.

Ndi Anambra, the peace and security we have enjoyed in Anambra State in the past seven years is under threat. All hands must be on deck to save Anambra from this danger.

I urgently call on all religious leaders, traditional rulers, market leaders, community leaders and leaders of the various youth associations across Anambra State to rise to this immediate challenge and speak to our youths and calm the boiling anger in the land.

Whatever we destroy in a feat of anger was built by us, even if they were donated to federal institutions within our state. We must do everything we can to avoid self-inflicted injuries.

Ndi Anambra, the times we live in demand extraordinary sacrifices. We must respond to it with patience, forbearance and love. This is not the time for unrestrained emotions. This is not the time for destructive rumours and conspiracy theories.

This is a time to reach out and touch one another with love, to treat each other with kindness and to say to one another with one voice; Nigeria is greater than her problems!

Umu nnem, we are the inheritors of a proud history. We carry the inventive genius of the great minds that created the famous Igboukwu civilization.

Our ancestors practiced pragmatic democracy before the Greeks stumbled upon its fine theories. We rose from the ashes of a brutal Civil War to rebuild our lives with relative ease.

Ndi Anambra, our story is different. So, we must act with a sense of history in moments like this. We must not give in to regrettable anger and throw everything away.

God bless Anambra State
God bless Nigeria

*Willie Obiano*

Rev Fr Emmnuel Obimma-Ebubemuonso was recently attached by some cult-members

Ebube Muonso narrowly escapes death

•Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, a.k.a Ebube Muonso

By PAMELA EBOHAwka

Founder and Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra state, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, a.k.a Ebube Muonso, has escaped death by the whiskers following an attack on him by suspected cults boys in his community, Nkwelle-Ezunaka.

It was gathered that the attack came on the heels of his homily at a funeral service held at St William Catholic Church in Nkwelle Ezunaka, where he preached against cultism.

Obinna had regretted that cultism has permeated the very fabrics of the community.

Narrating his ordeal the Catholic clergy said on Tuesday: “In the course of my homily during the funeral mass on June 12, 2020, I vehemently preached against cultism and cult groups, terrorism and hooliganism, which was common among young men in the community.

“Our youths are used to forming cult groups, which they use as weapons to intimidate people and unleash terror on innocent residents of the community.

“In Nkwlle-Ezunaka, people, including elders and the elites, sleep with their two eyes opened, because of cultists. Many elderly men and women in the community have been rough-handled, beaten and flogged by these hooligans.

“So, during the burial mass, I seized the opportunity to condemn their evil activities, and to caution them. As I was preaching that day, the congregations were shouting, saying that they knew only Fr. Ebube Muonso could have the guts to speak out against the evil perpetrated by the cult groups in that village.”

The Catholic priest maintained that the stock-in-trade of the group called ‘Searchlight’ was to rape, maim, extort and terrorise innocent members of the community.

He said: “A lot of young girls have been raped. Parents, who send their daughters on errands, get the shock of their lives when their girls return with the complaint that they were gang-raped by the Searchlig

“They equally torture and flog elderly people, who kick against their activities. Story was told of a woman, who was going out with his son on an errand. And unfortunately for her, the bad boys harassed her, beat her up and stripped her before her son; claiming that she looked at them.

“Whenever people have cases in the village, they would hire these boys to fight for them, after paying the amount of money the cult boys would demand. In fact, for an average Nkwelle-Ezunaka person, it would be better for a person to be taken to the police station or charged to court than for one to fall into the hands of these boys.

“They have suppressed and inflicted injuries on many people. Imagine small boys flogging elderly people in the community. They engage in broad day robbery and all forms of criminality. They would claim omnipotence and untouchable. People, I must tell you, are afraid of them. They have constituted themselves into both police and the court of law; such that when you report any case to them against another person, they will go for war on your behalf. They arrest, try, convict and punish their victim.”

While expressing disappointment that majority of people he assisted in one way or the other were among those that attacked and accused him of land grabbing, Obimma said that the boys were not alone in their nefarious activities; but were only acting out scripts of their sponsors.

“I have empowered a good number of them. I’ve sent a good number abroad in order to improve their lives. I offered scholarships to the siblings and children of these people, who are after my life.

“Ebuka Obiozo, one of the cult boys that attacked me, was among the people I strived to lift out of poverty. I gave him money several times. It was because of him that I invited footballers like Emenike and Kanu Nwankwo to take him up in order to enhance his football career. I am yet to understand the core reason for the attack launched against me. They are doing this to intimidate me as they use to intimidate others; but Fr. Ebube Muonso cannot be intimidated!” he added.

Ebube Muonso urged the court to ensure that both himself and innocent members of the Nkwelle-Ezunaka community get justice for evil meted on them by the boys.

“The boys are into blood covenant and I urge government to beef up the anti-cult unit of the police force, so that cultism would be reduced.

“I hold no malice against them. The reason they are still in the correctional facility is to discipline them, so that when they come out, they will become better and more responsible members of the society. They need to be tamed, so that they will understand that hooliganism is bad. I do not pray that they stay long in prison. My aim is to tell them that what they did was wrong,” he noted.

#EndSARS! Youths as we move to endSARS with all his luggages, "LET US THE YOUTHS EMBRACE GOD BY HIS WORD OF DIVINE MANDATE OF ISAIAH 3;1-15(Emphasis/divine mandate in vs 4), FOR HIS DIVINE PROTECTION BY HIS WORD OF ISAIAH 54;17, 2King 19;34-39, Philipoians 3;10 AND BY GOD'S WORD IN GENESIS 1;27 AND LUKE 1;37 TO TAKE BACK WHAT BELONG TO US IN JESUS NAME, AMEN).---EKYMI

Youth please think for the future......

Prof. Wole Soyinka says :
'WHERE DID WE GO WRONG?
WAKE UP NIGERIAN YOUTHS!'~~~
"Awolowo was 37 years,
Akintola 36,
Ahmadu Bello 36,
Balewa 34,
Okotie-Eboh 27
and Enahoro 27
And they led the struggle for Nigeria
Independence after
the death of Macaulay. Only Zik was 42 at the
time!
In 1966, the first military coup was led by K
Nzeogwu who was 29 years and countered by
M.Mohammed 28,
T. Danjuma 28,
I. Babangida 25,
J. Garba 23,
Sani Abacha 23,
and M. Yar'adua 23,
And brought to power
Y. Gowon 32,
Ojukwu 33,
Obasanjo 29,
And Buhari 24!
Most of the military governors who governed
the states under the successive military
regimes were under 30 years.
Also, the brief democratic dispensation which
interjected the military interregnums also saw
some Senators and members of the House of
Representatives, in particular, populated by
persons under 30!
Under 30's were also not in short supply with
appointments - we have examples of
MT Mbu who became Nigeria's Foreign Affairs
Minister at 23 and Pat Utomi who became a
Federal Adviser at 27
And so on and so forth!
NOW: Why is it that almost all this age
bracket is today still sleeping in 3-seater
chairs in their
parents’ homes?
Why is it that this age bracket is today still
collecting pocket money from their parents?
Why is it that this age bracket is today still
writing JAMB?
Why is it that this age bracket today still
'sagg' their trousers?
Why is it that this age bracket is today still
searching for jobs and not yet married?
Why is it that this age bracket is today no
longer qualified to even be leaders of youth
wings of political parties?
Why is it that this age bracket is today so
docile?
Why is this age bracket today incapable of
feeding itself?
Why is it that this age bracket is today barred
from even aspiring to certain political offices?
Why is it that this age bracket is today
incapacitated, unwilling, unable and incapable
of asking questions?
GOD BLESS NIGERIA!"
From Prof Wole Soyinka.
This is real Food for Thought!

ENDSWAT, Here Are The Pictures Of The Fulani Assailants Sent After Defenseless Protesters In Abuja
The end SARS campaign has been growing from strength to strength in Nigeria as more and more citizens join the demonstration in protest against SARS brutality in Nigeria. Despite the government yielding to the demands of the protesters, the demonstration has waxed even stronger.

However, the end SARS protest took an ugly turn today at Abuja when protesters who were clamouring against the brutality of SARS operatives (now renamed SWAT) were attacked by sponsored Fulani assailants.
The protesters took to their heels initially because they were defenseless as the directive was that the demonstration would be peaceful but they eventually summoned their courage and turned on their attackers, overpowering, capturing and beating them.
Pictures of the scene circulated through out social media, some social media users and influencers emerged to condemn the attack on weaponless protesters and demanded that the sponsors of the assailants be found and brought to justice.
Below are some of the pictures obtained from the scene of the protest.

The Nigerian Army has said it would deal decisively with with anti democratic forces in defence of democracy in Nigeria.

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Sagir Musa who stated this in a press release on Thursday, warned those he called trouble makers to desist of face decisive action.

“The Nigerian Army (NA) wishes to reassure law abiding citizens that it is highly committed to the sustenance of peace, security and defence of democracy in Nigeria. As a responsible and law abiding organisation, the NA reaffirms its unalloyed loyalty and commitment to the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari and the Constitution of the Country,” the Army said.

“The NA hereby warns all subversive elements and trouble makers to desist from such acts as it remains highly committed to defend the country and her democracy at all cost. The NA is ready to fully support the civil authority in whatever capacity to maintain law and order and deal with any situation decisively. All officers and men are directed never to be distracted by anti democratic forces and agents of disunity.”

The warning comes as a response to the ongoing protest for an end to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and for police reforms in different parts of the country.

Though the Inspector General of Police ,Mohammed Adamu had disbanded SARS, protests have continued with protesters demanding for an end to police brutality and overall police reforms.

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai was said to have met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday to discuss military response to the protests.

Anambra Airport will Grow State Economy -Gov Obiano

Ahead of the April 2021 proposed opening of Anambra International Cargo Airport, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has expressed confidence that the state is not in lack of the financial resources to complete the airport.

Speaking during his visit to the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Governor Obiano, also revealed that when completed, the airport will have the second-longest runway in Nigeria, after the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.

According to him, the airport is being built with the best available materials, with a guaranteed lifespan of one hundred years.

On why he embarked on the airport project, the Governor said the airport will help grow the economy of the state and its environs.

He said the airport is just a few kilometres from Onitsha town, the economic nerve centre of the South-East Region adding that it is strategically located and a worthwhile investment.
The governor noted that the construction of the airport has been guided by recommendations and guidelines of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as it hopes to meet the best international standards.

On his part, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, commended the Anambra State government for embarking on the cargo airport project which he said will positively impact on the economic development of the state and the South East region as a whole.

He advised the Governor to sustain the ongoing collaboration with the regulatory authorities to ensure that all regulations and guidelines for the construction and operation of airports are met.

They are: Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee.

With the two women advancing to the final round of the selection process, the WTO will likely have the first female director-general in its 25-year history.

Reacting, Ben Bruce and Peter Obi congratulated Okonjo-Iweala who served as Nigeria’s Finance Minister for making it into the finals.

Ben Bruce wrote, “I congratulate my sister, @NOIweala on making it into the final two amongst contenders to lead the WTO.”
